Possible to use the plastic 8ight-e spur on a nitro conversion?

I tried to do this and it seems there must be some minor differences when using the nitro versions as the center diff / spur just rubs against the rear diff mount and sets out of place.

Thoughts or ideas? Did I do something wrong? hmm... wish it were drop on :(
