Big Enough Stator For Direct Drive? - 03.07.2008, 02:10 PM

Looking to buy a powerful outrunner which has a stator size of 52/30.
Im wondering if this will be able to power my warhead on 5s 30c-60c lipo and if so how fast do you think it will be able to go with these specs...
Diff ratio- 3.307
Tire diameter- 5.311in (E-Savage Tires)
Weight of truck with conversion- 12.1lbs

I hope you guys can help me out with this because Im looking to buy this soon.

Why don't you just plug it into the calculater? You did not specify the kv.

I think the motor could handle it fine. My only concern is whether or not the truck can handle it... Outrunners are HARD on diffs especially compared to outrunners, because of their huge moment of inertia.

The diff ring gear, bevels and planetary gears are all hardened steel. It'll hold up to the power with ease.

The KV of the motor is 280kv. Sounds very low but should be prefect. I really need sike's help right now.

Another question for you guys... You think a Jeti ESC or even a MMM will handle a 14pole motor with proper settings on 5s lipo?

Why don't you take a Kontronik Jazz 80-6-18? The Jazz controllers are working really nice with outrunners, cogging isn't existing: http://picasaweb.google.de/Brushless...87508891729186
