wierd motor problem - 08.14.2005, 03:05 PM

my pinion is not slipping on the shaft but the motor will rev up and nothing happens. could the shaft inside the motor be broken . this is wierd. it will go slow but I can hold the pinion gear an rev up the motor.
the set screw is on the flat and there is no signs of damage .

What motor are you using?

Sounds like a thrown shaft. That's when the shaft gets loose from the magnet.

If it's a Lehner, you might fix it yourself. Even if it's a Feigao it should be possible, but they are harder to open.

i just may go over to mikes house and show it to him. he has the jig to unscrew it and I can just do a "trade in" for a new one.
waiting to see if he is home and available. wow that sounded just wrong.LOL!

it's is/was a basic XL2800

hey if you guys want something to do I would love an explaination of all these different motor part numbers.
http://www.rc-monster.com/products.php?cat=35

I was running 14 cells cause 12 didn't do it for me .but maybe the motor was slipping

but compare with 12 cells top speed and torque and power band
