crt.5 update

hey guys here is an update on my crt.5, i have taken the advise from the forum and put a smaller motor in the truck, cc esc and 4600 motor combo kit. this has proven to be just what i wanted, tested on tuesday and all is good, this has made it much easier to drive and smoother power delivery, great over the jumps and fast out of the corners. i ran with a 13 pinion and 2s 4400mah lipos, diffs (7 10 3) around 15 minute run time this has put it right near the top of the fun list.

Yeah, what are your temps? I wasn't happy with the temps with my 4600 combo on 2s, and that was geared 46/12.

i am about to try a mamba max 5700 with a 12t... i hope it will work!

Same here, if I can ever get the blooming thing to calibrate with my 3PK!!

Not sure what pinion mine came with, but I'm starting out with 2S and will see how it goes. I scored a like new one on Ebay that included an elect conversion as well. I will be using the RCM kit and the pinion from the other. I expect to buy a 3S as soon as I get all the kinks and bugs worked out.

I just got mine together yesterday, not my final motor though. I started with a used roller w/ rcm motor mount that I picked up from a member on here. I wound up purchasing an ofna extended chassis conversion on ebay and switched everything over. I made a battery tray out of plexi to start with but have since made one from alum to install this weekend. I put my mm in and the only motor I have available to me until my package from mike arrives is a Novak HV4.5. I have a spektrum 3100 rx bound to my DX3R radio and a spektrum z590 servo. I am extremely pleased with this truck! I originally started this truck to replace my rc18t with something a little bigger but that has the ability to corner without rolling like the little truggy. Now I think I will be selling my vxl rustler as well now! This should be on everyone's list of trucks!

all my temps are good esc, motor and lipos all under 60C 46-13 gearing, 4600cc combo on 2s lipos just tried a change to a 14 spur and drove a little smoother and a little more stop speed just a little increase in temps no effects on run time all is still good. i only run at the track no bashing.

did you ever tried the 4600 mamba with a 3s lipo?
i will get this in a few days and i was wondering wether this was a good choice.
