i can get one for cheap just wondering if it will be better than the vxl can, will it work with the vxl esc, im wanting to lower temps now, might get a mm to go with any input

I have not heard much about how well a vxl esc will run a sensored motor. It does have a sensor port IIRC. That would be a 2s only motor, as the kv is high. Not sure if it would outperform the vxl motor on 3s through...

o i was wondering being a 4.5 turn, the vxl is a 3.5 correct? i know its 3500kv, so 3s would be a no no for the lrp huh?

Good 2s motor, but that's about it. Probably best if you intend to race, and I'm sure you'll be wanting more torque after you're done with the novelty of having the 4.5 turn motor for bashing though. Getting a fast motor is unnecessary for racing. More often than not, you probably will turn better lap times with a turn or two higher motor.

I've read a 50/50 chance of the sensor port working well, or it just conking out, but who knows, maybe that issue is fixed with more recent VXLs.

If you have the VXL setup and can afford to run 3s, that's probably a far better option overall.

The VXL is a 10 turn motor btw.

The lrp is a 7800kv motor, where the vxl is 3500 kv. So the lrp would spin 57000rpm, where the vxl would spin 38000kv on 3s.

So the lrp would require less gearing than the vxl to do the same speed, but would most likely draw more current and run hotter.
