Medusa Motor - 06.18.2008, 10:03 AM

I just received an email today stating that my Medusa 36-60-2000Kv motor had been shipped. I'll probably end up selling it since I already have a Tekno RC Neu 1515 1Y.

For those that are interested to buy it, pm me. I'll sell it for what I paid for.

I kinda want the 1600, but not sure if I'll like it in my buggy. I'm running a 10XL in there now and am pretty happy, but I might make the medusa jump if it's equivalent in torque.

Any ideas?

I can't compare the two b/c I don't own a 10xl but the medusa has plenty of torque and would be excellent in a buggy. The 1500 pushes my maxx around well I just want a cooler running option for it.

2 3s flightpower 5350 evo lite, 18/68 gearing, 33-34 mph, excellent torque

I tried gearing higher but the motor just can't do it in the maxx, maybe in cooler weather

i know you just said that you tried it, but it seems [to me] that you are undergeared...
are you sure the motor doesn`t run cooler with a 22t pinion?
also, what ambient temps are we talking about?

my 36-60-2000v2 with flightpower evo 5s and tekin r1pro did run under 130F in my 1/8 lightning gt [around 5kg rtr]... geared for 40ish...
i also run a 36-50-2200v2 on 14cells in my e-savage [1/10]... also stays under 130f... that truck is pretty similar [in weight] with a maxx, and i run a smaller [50mm] can with lower voltage and geared quite a bit short [22t pinion]...
just my own tale...

Been there done that. I tired 24/22/20/18 tooth pinions. It's all the same. The 2000kv on 6s may be a better bet. They're good motors, I just have the wrong one for the application

could be that...

last question if it isn`t a problem: what esc and timing settings do you run?

MGM 16018, Auto Timing, Forward/Reverse/Brake, no brake neutral, brakes at medium, no free wheel, don't remember what else

I may try it again later when I get my MMM back from CC.
