thinking about a BL boat purchase -

In the past 2 weeks I have become very interested in BL power boats, I have done lots of research and instead of buying a bottom level RTR, I am thinking about buying a used boat. There is a BL boat club and one of the big retailer/boat builder is in my area. I have found a 10s lipo RTR and have seen a similar one in action and they only have about 5 mins of run time but its 5 mins that will drop your jaw....its is pricey @ $1400
Seems like a good deal, quite a bit of money in the motor and esc. Fastest I have run a boat is 45mph, and that was crazy. I know you would have fun with the boat. I have seen the hulls up close, and they are well made. An older design but still works well. If you get it post up some better pics of the hardware...
Bigger is faster. Mono's are the funnest...stick with the race hulls 30'' is nice but the 33'' hulls are rated for about 10 mph faster. The 33'' titan looks real nice and you might be able to run your truck gear in it.

I was originally looking at a mono hull than I heard the cat hull results in a faster boat but more prone to flipping... still looking at both designs..a local builder in the area has a mono 33" model that I am also looking at here is a link
Is it me trippin, or me not knowing much about the boating world.... but is the prop on reverse in this pic or is this the way they are supposed to face???
-lol- sorry to scare ya - i did notice that notch, although still wasn't sure - i just remember from my 6HP tinnie days when i was a kid that the prop faced the other way to what it is in the picture =)
I couldn't help it - i did a google image search and all the props face the other way?
But it looks like it's the right way round in this shot?
Beautiful bonzi bro! I wanted that exact same boat for so long. I still may wind up with one but will have it converted to brushless power so I can run anywhere any time plus I have 4-5s 6000mah packs coming out my ass so run time won't be a factor. But my advise to any first time boater is grab a mono hull right around 30-40''.
i have really wanted one of these for a long time now - just never had the money to get one started being i'd most likely need dual power systems... HPR 06 Cat hull... http://www.swissmodelpowerboatteam.ch/115er.html
I have a 600mm B-24 mono hull on 12 cells and a lehner xl2800 i used to play with, but it needed some serious hardware upgrades so it's been packed away for a while, so i kinda forget it exists...
