difference between quark air master and monster pro

hi,

i´m thinking about to buy a quark air master for my cars.
whats the difference to the quark monster pro?

are these esc a good choice for building a buggy/truggy like a jammin or st-1?
i wanna use a123 cells, i thought about 5s.

The air master is a plane or helicopter-oriented controller. It has only weak drag brakes and no reverse. The monster pro is a car-oriented controller and has strong proportional brakes, as well as reverse. Quarks are smooth controllers, great for running neu and mega motors, but they heat & thermal often and sometimes burn. A buggy or truggy would be a suitable vehicle for a quark, just make sure you have adequate cooling to it. The 5s1p would have a hard(er) time getting enough amps to your motor, and could decrease potential performance.

ok, then the air master insn´t a good choice for me.
i want build a hyper7 buggy and maybe my x2 crt truggy.
every vehicle get a motor, but the esc should be used in both cars. same for the a123 packs (*s2p).
i´m looking for a cheap alternative for a esc.

heatsink i can do for myself, i got a cnc machine.

It's not just the heatsink, but the thermal pads Quark uses to secure the PCB to the case. Not only is it not the best thermal conductor, but it sometimes "lets go" and the FETs don't even touch the case anymore. There is a mod that removes these pads and uses thermal adhesive instead, but that voids the warranty and need to create a new spacer slab. Just search around and you'll eventually see the mod details.

Once the mod is done though, it helps a TON. I ran a 125B in my old Revo and still in my Hyper8 buggy and they worked great. They are VERY smooth even at really slow speeds. I still think they are smoother than the MM or MMM even with the newer software.

mmm is bad for me because i must order in usa and when the esc is broken i have high fees for sending it back. i read much bad thing for this esc, its often burns. whats about the v3 version? shall i wait for it? i think this is the cheapest esc for 6s?

will i need the quark 125a or can i use the 80a version?

125 or 80 depends on what your planned setup is. For a CRT I'd go with a Neu 1515 2.5d or 1.5y on 5s. With that setup you *should* be able to use the 80a, but the 125a is a safer choice.

The 125A is basically the same capabilities as the Mamba Max ESC; same FETs (at least in the older MM ESCs) and the same number of them. I would rate the 80B more like a sidewinder.

That said, I think Quark optimisitically rates their ESCs, so I would definitely go no lower than the 125B.

Also, I'd get the quark in your part of the world. Castle is sort of a USA controller. I hope all with the V3 MMM's go well, and then they can be shipped worldwide without fear of frying, and huge return shipping prices.

Are you serious? I'd think a quark 65 would be like a sidewinder, and the 80a model more like a MM.

ok, i thought about to use a feigao 540l for buggy and crt.5 and a xl for truggy.

wich esc up to 250 - 280$ would be the best choice for me?
is it possible for using the same esc in every car?

Yes and they are good solid ESC's. They are not as smooth as the Quark or MMM though.

damn, i cant decide whats the better esc for me.
i have no clue about brushless, i want the best setup for my money :)
i cant buy a quark esc here in germany, i must order at korea.
then i have to pay tax and custom for it.

mgm is czech, so i have to pay nothing of these.

but the winter is comming, then i cant drive. then i have enough time to decide :)

Go with MGM. Quarks service has been questionable as of late. MGM has excellent service and being so close to you that is who I would pick.
