Is there a way to get rid of the on/off switch on the mm esc and have it still work? - 11.29.2008, 11:12 PM

I am tired of switches breaking, having to soldier new ones, etc... can they be used with out the switch?

You have to solder the two pads together or use a small loop of wire to connect them. Or the mm will not be on.

How on earth are you breaking the switch wires so close to the board anyway?

You must be doing something wrong or have the ESC floating around in your car or positioned in a bad spot.

The switch came loose in my car today, but, nothing happened to it & I was doing backflips.

I broke the switch wire on my MMM about 1cm from the board. Not sure what went wrong, was going for a jump, left it, lost all response, it glided (crashed) to the ground and was still unresponsive. The switch was double sided taped to the MMM casing so it wasn't really flapping about. It has since been replaced by some solder :)

Right now there is a small dab of soldier on the board where the 2 wires are supposed to be soldiered to, nothing more. So you are saying that if I connect the contact points at the board w/soldier it will work? Or would a small loop of wire connecting them be better.

as long as they are connected the esc will be "on" all the time

That's fine....just didn't want to fry the esc that's all...better to ask and be sure! Thanks for your help

Not having to deal with any more switches will be better also!

Magman- it's solder. No "i". Solder. Pronounced sod-er. What you are referring are the people that are overseas fighting for, well, freedom, I guess. I know, I shouldn't pick on someone for spelling, you just did it 5 times so I know it's not a typo, and I'm trying to save you some embarassing looks when you go to radioshack to buy "soldier"

Thanks...that's what I get for not paying attention to detail...I try hard not to misspell words but, even in going over each response before posting, I still miss things from time to time....thanks for the correction!
