Help! - 12.22.2008, 03:30 PM

I was running a novak HV 6.5 pro system in my E-Revo, when it suddenly acted like it had a really strong drag brake. first thing I thought was that there was binding in the drivetrain, so I rolled the revo, and it was hard to push.I pulled the motor, and it rolled smoothly. When I throttle the motor outside of the vehicle, it barely revs up, and acts like it is binding somewhere. It gets hot REALLY fast, then smells bad. When it does this, I make sure not to let it get above 140.When it was in the vehicle, and running fine, the temps were 110-115F. What happened? Novak CS is closed until after Christmas. PLEASE HELP ME!

Sounds like your windings are shot.

Bad windings or bad magnet. Take the motor apart and inspect.

You most likely have a short between the phases. Must have overheated it somehow, or something came loose inside the motor. I would send the whole system back to Novak. The esc may be damaged too...
