newbie tekno-rc revo owner... -
02.18.2009, 08:56 PM
hello...i just finished my tekno-rc revo conversion (mamba max + Feigao 540XL - 9XL Brushless Motor (9trn, 5mm shaft, 74A, 1853kv) i only use 7.4 lipo battery on it. is that the reason why it runs very weak? or maybe the electi-clutch was the problem, totally confused ...i will try to use direct drive to see if it will run better. still waiting for the parts from impakt RC. here's what i have ordered...
1 x Novak Pinion Gear (Mod 1, hardened steel, 5mm, 15t) (NOV5104)
1 x RC-Monster Electric Motor Mount (CNC aluminum, Traxxas Revo) (RCM-MM-REVO)
1 x *Tekno RC Long Shank Pinion (hardened steel, Mod 1, 5mm bore, 15t) (TKR4155)
can anyone tell me if this will help...thanks a lot

Yes, you need more juice - that set up should be run on 4S. Is there a reason you tried it with just one battery? Also, why did you order two 15T pinions? Also, how did you mount the motor, seeing that you have a motor mount on order?
Losi 8T 1.0, Savage Flux - XL style, LST XXL, Muggy, 3.3 E-Revo Conversion and sitting outside 425hp, 831 Tq Dodge Ram Turbo Diesel. It SMOKES

I'm running the same set up but diff motor, also using a 15t clutch bell on the Tekno kit, unless u have the wide gear set, it will feel very pedestrian even in 2nd gear at full throttle.

Squee is back...WTF!
Anyways a 9xl is going to need 4s... Or pick a motor with higher kv for 3s. 4s will be better.

Hoping to get my mod position or something?
But yea, if you really wanna run 3S, best bet would be something like a 7XL. I'd go 7 or 8XL on 4S or 9XL on 5S.

Those pinions are exactly the same, so if you can, you should maybe change the order to get one that has a different pitch (maybe a 14T).

Yes on 4s, you will need a cc bec or similar switching regulator....Just don't forget to remove the red wire from the esc plug! You may also want to add a cap as well...like this one ... http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...=35vcap&cat=21
1. MBX-6 T8 1900KV, RX8 ON 4S
2. MBX-5T 1520, MMM ON 5S

4. MRX-3 ON ROAD CONVERSION 1512, MMM ON 6S
5. TEN T 2650 T8, MMP ON 3S

Is there a particular brand of lipo batt. you guys can recommend??? I planning to buy one, like what you said, at least 5s. I'm checking out maxamps (30C Lipo 6500 5S2P 18.5V) or polyquest (PolyQuest 5s 6000mah 25c)... Is there any difference?

Most of us here use custom selection and run anywhere from 3.1v/cell to 3.3 v/cell. I run 3.2 v/cell as a little insurance
