Stock spur (I think 66T, definitely 32P), quite heavy truck, just ordered this:

you need more motor then a 36-50 for an esavage...

expect temps to be high

with one of BrianG's most recent updates, the list of top speeds with all the pinions will show you the gear needed for the 1:1 rollout, which is a nice starting point. Also, BrianG if you see this, thank you so much for the import/export values functions! I end up using your calculator like 3+ times a day. you rock!

How much does your esavage weight rtr? That will answer the question of vehicle vs motor required...

I had my medusa 36-50-3300kv in my E-savage and my temps never got above 140 on the ESC or motor, I was also running 21/66. That motor has no problem pushing an E-savage, The E-savage is smaller than an E-maxx

Definitely smaller than the EMaxx, I'd probably say around 10lbs, MAX.

Since I have tons of shenanigans hooked up, stock, is probably 6-7 lbs at most.

7lbs is hard to say- thats what a light weight 8th scale buggy weighs...


8 or 9 is probably more realistic. and a 50mm motor even on something as small as a crt.5 (5-6lbs) is pushing past 130 degrees on 3s.

Seems like your going to need more motor.

There has been a huge amount of people running that motor on E-savage forum also including me that had no problem with the motor and the temps..
