how to? - 03.03.2005, 04:08 PM

hey i have a couple questions about the aluminum stuff. how do you remove tires from aluminum rims and is there a special way you are suppose to clean aluminum chasis when there is mud on them? also this may sound stupid but can you bend aluminum back after it breaks?

toby, you remove the tires from the rims just like plastic rims, just be percatuios if you dont want to scratch them, to clean the aluminum chassis you just get a partially wet cloth and cleaan it, than dry it, and you can bend it back but it will not be as sturdy as before.

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

oh, than thats a different story , if they are glued than get a really thin hobby nife and cut around the glue, near the rim, you should use common sense. P.S my package is already in Canada! only in 3 days, i think my order from gorilla will arrive next week, im so exited :)~!!!!!!!!

tires - - 03.03.2005, 06:14 PM

I know that if you put plastic rims in the oven for a little while - the glue will burn off and you can peel the rubber off the rim. Here comes the disclaimer : I do not, I repeat I do not know if this will work with alluminum rims without damaging the rims - so if you wish to try this - perhaps wait until someone can confirm this method with alluminum - I would hate for you to ruin your rims this way - But it works with plastic rims and removing the rubbers....

Hotncold, i think it is an O.K idea BUT you must take alot of percaution, but with plastic, go ahead, rip those suckers off :) What aluminum rims would you reccomend? they also have to be nice.

RD Logics from mike - they look pretty sweet - I dont run aluminums - yet - if there was a way that was easy to switch tires - then i would probably get me a set...

Beadlocks don't require glue, so changing tires is pretty simple.

These are the aluminum rims currently available at RDLogics. I carry the "SY-V", but can get any of them.

Ramtech used to make them. They no longer offer these wheels.
