Hi guys,

How to glue my Badlands stretched on my Rulux Half Ups:

What do you guys think / run?

Fast response would be great since I would like to run these puppies tomorrow.

I would put them in the bead. As far as the foams, give a try with a hair dryer/ heat gun on low to expand that foam, careful not to melt them. If it comes back, run it, otherwise I would replace them.

They have been lying around for about 4 days now. They are completely dry.

EDIT: I read that it's also a way to reshape the foams back. Going to try that now, thanks for the tip!

Washing and then drying them normally gets them to fluff back up

if they dont fluff back up then dont use them, glue them on the bead

@ Arct1k, I've cleaned them with water (incredible how much sand was in there). When I wanted to pull the wheels of the rim (after boiling) the two with the strange foams seemed like they were sucked vacuum. Should I wash them with any ''special'' stuff?

@ Semi Pro, so the normal way.

I mounted mine on the inside like picture two. Slightly narrower and performed well.

These two drawings were made by me. I made them from my own experience with Badlands on Rulux half ups. If you mount them on the usual outside bead, your side walls will be squished and look very weird because the whole tire has to be stretched. If you mount them on the inside bead like in pic #2. part of that side wall will be inside the rim and basically you will end up with a low profile Badland. Like the Proline LPR tires and rims.
The drawing is not representative of what really happens when you use the inside bead. The side wal will rest firmly on the outer edge of the rim and you can run a second bead of CA all around to seal that joint which will make your side wall firm and will make the truck handle very well and very stable.
The only downside of this tire/rim combination is mounting them. Those tires have to be stretched to fit on that inside bead and your fingers will hurt once your done.
I loved this set up so much that I ran these Badlands exclusively while bashing until there were no more treads on them.

Here's a pic of Badlands mounted on LPR rims (or half ups) on the regular bead on the left and inside bead on the right. The regular bead looks weird and bulging. The pic is from someone else.

When will Proline make a set of basher type tires in LPR size? Everyone seems to lve the badlands but mounting them to LPR rims is a PITA.

Can this mounting method work with Proline VELOCITY dish wheels?

I love Badlands, but i just hate that the side walls offer no real support.

@ reno911, I'm also leaning towards that.

@ mistercrash, it's final. Inside bead with a layer of glue on the outside. I've already mounted two of them on the innerbead. I think it wasn't so hard to mount when. Ok more difficult than a normal one, but it's do-able (I did brake a finger nail though

). I also love my Badlands, they look badd-ass and offer tons of grip offroad.

The proline wheels are the correct size for the badlands, but I would assume you would be able to glue them on the very inside of the first bead.

As for sidewall support, I relied on my revos suspension to cure that ailment. With proper suspension setup I don't think having stiffer side walls will be noticeable. Besides the tires may be a part of the suspension. In my eyes they are just there to make traction, the suspension is supposed to do all of the work to insure that the tires have traction. For those who know, the badlands get some awesome traction, pretty good on asphalt as well.

My bad, if they are 3.2'' I would glue them like they are meant to be glued.

hmmm... so what you are is, proline wheels might not work as well as the Rulux wheels did?
