Saw this over on the RCCA forums this morning. Looks like a great alternative to the TDR stuff.

EDIT: Actually, upon further looking, it appears like this may only work with a 36mm motor which makes it less than desireable. Boo!

Edit again: Make that 39mm, not 36mm

Battery behind, motor behind, ESC behind -> fail. You won't be able to give 30% throttle and it will already flip backwards...

Looks like some good thinking went into this! Losi is definitely trying to get in line with Traxxas and HPI with electric MT's. However, they are thinking wrong. Why don't these companies look to forums of actual users, and places like here that pioneered the electric conversion? I don't get it. We have done practically all the research and development one could need...

Anyways, cudos for their 2 steps in the right direction, and boo to the 1 step back...

Wow, could they get that battery pack any higher. Did you see the pics of all the wheelies? Thats what happens with all that weight at the back and up in the air.

I looked through the assembly instructions and noticed something that I may have been unaware of - does the LST tranny also have a built in center diff?

Thinking more on this conversion. Ditch the two speed part of it (and loose the reverse servo), lock the tranny, and put that battery case up front over the steering servo.

I'm not sure if its really limited to the 36mm motors - that looks to be more of a heat sink - and they show you layering tape on the motor to get it to fit.

Looks like the kind of conversion typically done by a certain other company. Won't mention the name but it starts with F and ends in Design.

Even with my LST, 5S LiPo as far as it can be in the front of the chassis, it does standing backflips if it has got enough grip...

This conversion is a joke...

Losi motors are something like 39mm diameter aren't they? Can't be that this conversion requires 36mm

I looked through the entire thing, and didn't see any mention of motor size limits, or even a reference to the dia.

It's limited to whatever the diameter of the heatsink internals are. The heatsink bolts to the chassis and the front plate that bolts to the motor bolts to the heatsink. No way you're getting anything like a Castle/Neu in there.
