I don’t get it, which is the better motor the lmt 1930/8 is a lot more expensive and this 2000watt motor is so cheap I think the 1930/8 is way better am I right?

That is an out runner for one thing.
It would have gobs of torque.
The motor is open so subject to stuff going in the motor.

I wouldsay yes. I don't think all the escs will be able to run it though. Some of the out runners are like 8 pole motors.

I not sure if that one is or not. I have read some of them are multi pole motors though. If the can is like 28 mm across it is like having a 26 mm rotor or so. I wanted to test some on these but never did. If you do get could You let us know how it works out.

By 8 pole, I assume you mean there are 8 electromagnets (4 pairs) energized at any one time time as opposed to only 2 electromagnets (one pair) on a typical inrunner?

I noticed that on both of my BL motors (8XL and 10XL) that if I turn the shaft by hand, I can feel two distinct magnetic "detents" in one rotation. This feeling is stronger in the 10XL. Does this mean I would feel 8 detents in one rotation for an 8 pole?

A two pole motor has 3 electromagnetic poles and a 4 pole has 3 pairs of coils, each opposite from one another, so 6 electromagnetic poles.

The only problem I see is it has a low Kv rating.

Doh! That makes sense. I sometimes forget these are three phase. :)

So, following that logic; if a typical two pole motor has say 7 turns, does that mean a four pole 7 turn motor has both sets of 3 poles energized at once? This would in effect put each 7 turn pole in parallel with each other, correct? Which would pull as much current as a 3.5T motor, right?

I'm just trying to figure out what makes driving a motor with more than two poles so difficult...

How is that a problem? With lower kv, it's actually less of a problem since you can run higher voltage and gain greater efficiency (that means more power).

WEll the titans turn about 1200 kv. If you run 6s lipo on it with same gearing it will be faster than the stock setup.

my 1930 is so free to turn you hardly notice the fields but we have a different motor at work that is near impossible to turn over with you fingers lol “you need a pair of pliers” what’s the difference?

a plettenberg maxximum or a bigmaxximum are very hard to turn with your hand. It pretty much depends on the design of the motor. I don't know what the reason is for choosing a certain 'resistance' i noticed the startup of the plettenbergs are much, much harder than the startup of the motors you can turn easy.
