Question Proline 23MM Hexes???? - 09.21.2006, 10:58 PM

Regarding the washers that come with these, do you install two on each, one on each, or don't bother to use them at all?

I noticed when I installed both, they were really hard to get on, and seemed to bind the free spinning a little.

I have to agree...i noticed they where a little hard to get onto the end of my cvd, but i ended up using all 3 per wheel......and then snugged the 23mm hexes down....but i didn't super crank them....and put new locktite nuts and the end with a litte blue locktite on the threads as well.....also I put new bearings in as well...just check them from time to time and make sure they are still tight

They are suppose to be a tad snug for a perfect fit, they advise being careful with how many you use because if you use to many, it will cause binding and they are hell to get off. You only use as many as needed as stated before. Start with one at a time until the play gets less and less. For me, i had to use two on each.

I couldn't get the washers on the MIP axles so I did not use them at all. I did notice some play and then one 23mm hub rip off so I had to replace it.:031:
