The strap screws come all the way from the bottom of the chassis. I just drilled a couple mounting holes and then countersunk the holes for a flat head screw to mount flush. The screws go through the chassis the battery tray and the straps and then are tigtened down with lock nuts. I was thinking about using 4 screws (2 on each end) but the 2 screws seems to be plenty strong.
I did use around .090in of CF shim inder the ends of the battery tray to gt it to just rest on top of the edge of the mud gaurds and sit flat. I am actually not using the middle mud guard screw so I didnt have to lift it all the way over the top of the nuts. On the Mud Guard I trimmed the little plastic pocket for the nut down flush to the rest of the mud guard. It doesnt need the middel screw. The battery tray actually kind of clamps the mud guard down. You can see in the pictures that I actually trimmed the battery tray around the front and rear mud guard nuts.
