Project Green Monster - 12.01.2007, 06:16 AM

Well, I think it's time for me to get my E-Revo project started. I've owned nothing but nitro vehicles until now and I like everything brushless has to offer. Here's the specs on my truck and some future plans as well.

2.5 chassis, de-anodized
MX-3 system
94358 for steering
FOC
Tranny locked in 2nd
RD Logics steering brace
Spotraxx on Velos
Shock socks, etc

Going to run the electronic brake, removed all that stuff. Lost weight with the throttle servo and mount as well as the stock receiver/battery box. I'll be trying to get the truck as light as possible with even more weight reduction. Carbon fiber chassis from Vantage, JD Carbon hinge pins, turnbuckles, and pushrods, carbon rear support plate, and some carbon plates to finish up the battery mount. Here's the parts I have left to order:

Feigao 9XL with XL heatsink
RCM Motor mount
15T pinion (36 spur)
Mamba Max
BEC
4S1P LiPo
Tekno Rx box
new lid (maybe 07 silverado)
battery tray

I'm looking at the Twin Force tray from Mike. I plan on adding some carbon fiber plate on the outside and the ends to make it reinforced. Not only strong but also lightweight. Oh, and the reason it's called Green Monster is because it's going to have a nice little green theme. A lot of blacked out parts too, but green for sure. I'll have to remove the anodizing from the Feigao but it shouldn't be a problem.

Here's some pics to keep you guys satisfied until the real hardware comes in!

Being torn down from nitro form

stripped

locked tranny mod (notice the screen, haha)

All nice and clean

And look what else I got....and a LBA10 too

your probably going to want to get some extended arms. especialy since your running lipo.

How do you get your arms so clean(mine hold dirt like velcro)

I use Simple Green. Works great and breaks up the dirt like a charm.

I'm still not sure on a 3.3 or a 2.5 chassis. I like the extended wheelbase but with the rear arms I'm thinking it would be better. Less weight, less money, and I can keep my old bodies.

Oh, and yes, my girlfriend's PinkVo is putting my nitro out of business!

I use simple green too, but I don't stop there. I squirt some WD40 on a rag and wipe the plastic down, keeps it looking like new and the dirt doesn't seem to want to stick as badly.

Yep, we'll go to the track and bash together too. Anyone think 17/36 isn't the right gearing?

IDk about 17/36 thats pretty tall especially since your locked in 2nd. I wouldnt go any higher than 16/38or 36 depending on weight with it locked into second and a 9xl

Matthew_Armeni uses 18/36, so I think I'll be okay. I used it in the Speed Calc and it turned out ~45 MPH on 4S.

Nice looking Revo. I like the silver chassis. I also run 18/36 with the tranny locked into 2nd gear on a MM, 9xl, and UBEC on 4s lipo. For bashing heat isn't too bad... but I also ran a fan on the ESC.

Thanks What'sNitro. I love New Balance!

I plan to run a fan on the ESC and cut some cooling holes too. I don't think it will be a problem.
