I would just run the internal bec and if it cooks, return it. You batteries will not be able to run with the 1.5d. I have a similar combo in my erevo, and even the trakpower packs get hot running the 1.5d. Maybe go to a 1y and conservative gearing and the proteks will be ok? The 1.5d can make seteios power, but is amp hungry. My truck is geared 19/50 mod 1, everything else is stock.

Better lipos would be a good idea. With the 1y a pair of trakpower lipos would be good.

If you have high dough to spend look into PolyQuest, Enerland, A123, TP, FP, TRC...

Here's what I'd run, if you're not heart-set on running 4s:

1. Tekno Neu 1515 3d
2. MGM 22418
3. 2 FP 3s 5000 packs

Get me back into RC!

Looks good to me, as Arktic said, the $300 MMM and 1y combo will save you some cash. You can also go to the polyquest 25c packs, not sure if they are any cheaper, $119 sounds lik a great deal for the 30c packs. I paid that for a trakpower pack, 4900mah 25c...

I would consider pre ordering a MMM 1 Y combo - failure rate of the MMM is of concern but the combo can be had for 260 saving you 140,,,

I have the hyperion EOS0606i charger. As nice and convienient as it is being an ac/dc charger it's not powerful. If you plan on charging your batteries in series as 1 4s battery it will not do it at 1C, the max on 4s is about 3A. Just letting you know that you'll be looking at longer than 1 hour charge times

RC-Monster RC8T 1515 2.5D/MMM/5s RC-M 4500mah
SC10 MMPro 13.5T 2s NeuEnery 5000mah
RC18T Mamba 25/5400kv 2s lipo + 6s NiMh
