A Slash and a MMM combo - 07.13.2009, 11:30 PM

I have a crazy brother that wants to make th most over-powered slash possible. He wants to run a MMM 2650kv system on 4s. Has it been done? From preliminary measurements I dont think the motor (41.78mm diameter) will fit in the gear box. So he would need a FLM tranny case, but then there is still the question of if the size of the motor will allow it to have good gear mesh with different gearing options. Has anyone tried it, or have any input?

Thats exactly what I told him. A much better option would be a 50mm medusa and it still have just insane power.

50mm medusa would be the best in the longrun. Cool temps, gobs of power, yet not wayy too much power. Perfect choice for the slash.

you would be better off getting the 2200kv motor if you want the most power possible. the can on the 2200kv motor is longer and you would be able to gear it to the moon.

They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.

I found the Slash even with a VXL on 3s is uncontrollable!

FLM Tranny case is a must, never had the motor over 110f running 18/86 on 2s OR 3s!

Thanks for the heads up on the tranny case. Does the stock one flex to much?

It does, also the Alloy one acts as a huge heatsink.

It is a bit of a PITA to install as it has no instructions (especially mounting the shock tower)

Several of us have done this kind of stuff - medusa 50 or 60 is enough to shred diff's - the 2200 does it very well though
