Plenty of boats, planes, and heli's use 10S with low kv motors.

sounds good! I just don't like the 23V power supply requirement.

A lot of people use 10S and more as it was stated above, but the big thing about the 10S capability to us car/truck guys is the ability to charge all of our batteries at the same time, wired together in series.

And with a 30A charge-rate, I can finally charge my Turnigy 40C 4S 5000mAh LiPos at the 5C (25A) they say they can safely be charged at!

Plus, ProTek (the makers of the iCharger series of chargers) is an awesome company, they make awesome products, and they have awesome service!

If you read Junsi's thread on RCGroups - they also rebadge the iChargers for Amain. ProgressiveRC is the iCharger distributor, David carries a lot more iCharger stuff than Amain -

I had one one of the Powerlab8 pre-ordered, then found out only their wiring, cables and balance adapters will fit which meant I'd be starting over and all mine would be useless. I bailed (they were nice enough to let me bail) and will be buying an iCharger 3010B.

The "blue" version is just the latest updated version of the charger, so it won't be long before all sites that sell them update their stock photos to show the new blue version.

I wondered about the iCharger Series of Chargers, and who made them, so a while back I called HobbyCity and they told me that they were manufactured by ProTek, and gave me a number to contact them. I then contacted ProTek directly, and they said that they did, in fact, manufacture their iCharger Series of Chargers, but after a lengthy discussion, the guy revealed that they don't "fully" manufacture ALL of their products...they contract out certain components of certain products...like their LiPos, the actual cells are manufactured in Hong Kong, partially assembled in China (cells soldered into series/parallel sub-assemblies), and then ProTek does the final assembly (wires, connectors, shrink-wrap, hard-cases). All of their new LiPos, other batteries, Power-Supplies, and other products have the new "blue" decals just like the latest version of their iChargers.

Anyway, my point being, ProTek does manufacture the iChargers, but they also contract out and source parts from other companies/places...at least that's what the ProTek guy told me on the phone.

I got that e-mail this morning. Pretty cool. My 200 watt 10amp does fine for everything I do so far. I can't see myself needing that until the ESC manufacturers catch up and make something that we can use this with, along with the battery packs themselves.

Since I have been very impressed with my iCharger 106B+ I think this will be my next charger, once more reviews come back, and maybe in a year or so the price will come down (although $180 is a great deal, you still have to factor in a 24V 50A power supply if you want to get the rated 1000W, and that will add to the cost)

People always say "But what do you even need that for? you'll never need that" I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. Battery technology is screaming forward with no sign of slowing down. Get a charger that will be able to keep up.

I'm just gonna wait until batteries can be charged at 200C, and then just plug them straight into a DC source for a few seconds.
