9920 no brakes - 04.26.2006, 11:25 PM

I just finished setting up and running a basic XL with a 9920 forward ,and reverse work great but it seems as if there are little or no brakes. Anyone else have this problem or have any ideas? thanks

Yeah, it's a familiar problem, do a search for brake fade and you will see several posts about it. The 9918 is the exact same controller as the 9920, in case you didn't knew.

Mine has a brake fade problem as well...

Seems to happen after about 5-10 minutes of running.

Has this problem ever been solved? I've found posts about it, but never read about a solution (if any)...

My problem was that I programmed the ESC with the stock radio set at 70/30. Reprogrammed at 50/50 and problem was solved.

I programed eith a Futabu FM radio, my brakes don't fade when it get warm or hot. they are gone almost within 20 or 30 seconds. I will try and program it today with my spectrum radio today and see if that helps

Dafni had this problem. I think he got his esc replaced. I am not sure what all it was doing.

Peace!

Neweuser....the email I sent you.....you say your brakes are to touchy...make this adj. on your radio.....remember the email I sent you with the radio adj....go to button (A) and adjusting it down from 80 will make it less touchy...if you go up to 100 it will instantly apply the brakes if you even just barely let off the throttle.......so in your case....go down from 80....my suggestion is do it in increments of (5)....and once you are some what happy with it go up or down a few #'s till you find it where you really like it.....any questions you know how to find me....

thanks, cured the problem!!! brakes are less touchy and throttle is a little more responsive! If i can get my batts to stop stuttering, this will be a very smooth system.
