Question UE SuperShocks - 4 or 8 shocks? - 01.17.2012, 08:56 AM

On the RacerX SuperShock (UE10120) details page here - http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/shocks.shtml - it's mentioned that they only run 4 shocks on a 10lbs RTR truck.

10lbs RTR is not a lot to me - I think that's what my trucks weigh without batteries and motor installed. Would I be better of running 8 shocks instead?

It's personal preference. I ran 4 shocks on my gmaxx which weighs about 14 lbs. I used the black spring in the rear and blue in front with 40 wt oil all around.

Castle Neu 1520 on 6S LiPo Powered Gmaxx (Nitro Killer)
Predator with OS .21TM
Supermaxx with Mach .26
Revo with OS .18TZ
Kyosho ST-RR Conversion
Ofna CR with Tekin ESC/Motor (2)

I have ran 4 shocks on most everything as well.
I like the looks of the 8 shocks though.

Thanks guys. Appreciate your inputs. About to make an order for two trucks so need to decide on 2 or 4 kits.

You are right, of course. It's just that it's very troublesome for me to order from UE since I'm from Scandinavia.

Yep but I guess a couple of guys in your "neighbourhood", can take em off your hands, if you only prefer 4 on each truck

Look at all your 1/8th scaled Truggies and Buggies... They use 4 shocks. I'd say if you are pushing more than 14 lbs OK go with 8. But 4 drives so much better....... Much faster response to offroad conditions.....
