So Who's Going to Get a Nomadio Sensor... -
09.03.2006, 09:13 PM
Now that it's ultra cheap?

At $269 you really can't go wrong IMO. I haven't purchased a new radio system for a couple of years now, and it seems like my MX-3 is biting the dust (decreased range, verified with two receivers and two crystal sets). My money will either go to this or to a battery setup for my 1/8 buggy, but it's looking like it'll go to this new radio because it's so cheap!
SH Z-Car, Custom Crawler, 8s Savage, 12s XTM XLB 1/7 buggy, 4wd 4-link rear/IFS Pro4 truck, Custom Hyper 10 Short Course, Belt-Drive Mammoth ST 1/8 truggy, 4s 17.5 MM Pro HPI Blitz

Is that really a full system for $269? It's $459 at Tower... that's a killer deal.
I would love to have real time temps displayed on my radio.
This deal is cheaper than getting the full eagle tree setup...

Can the nomadio run on the spektrum rx? I have them and don't want to go thru the hassle of getting all new rx again.

With the latest beta software from Nomadio, you can use Spektrum receivers, but you need to plug your radio into a computer to make the change to DSM (Nomadio calls it "Da Slow Mode" because Horizon/Spektrum trademarked the 'DSM' acronym). You also need to plug in again when you want to switch back to "Nomadio" mode.
As I mentioned, it's only with their beta software and it's a non-supported configuration, so you're on your own when using it, but several people have posted on Nomadio's forum saying it works just fine.

Yeah i do, I bought the full blown system with the cd-rom and computer cable and sensors. I haven't updated to the latest non beta, but as batfish says for comfort, its perfect, no more sore wrists. As i said about the mamba 5700 i have, its worth it at twice the price, for the features and things it can do, I love it.
Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise
