What about this E-REVO design????

I just like the fact that they use the 2 speed auto tranny from a revo, but I'm not to familar about Kershaw Designs brushless conversions. Are they any good? What does everyone think here?

Seems OK to me. 8L seems a bit underpowered though, but since it still has first gear, it might be OK.

I would see if they have any plans/blueprints/specs so if some part of the custom chassis breaks, you can get another made or fabricate yourself.

Since it uses the two-speed tranny, you'll need to keep the mechanical brake and you won't have reverse. You can lock it into second gear to use motor brake and reverse, but then the 8L won't be powerful enough.

I'm wondering why they would choose an 8L also. Everyone seems to go with a 9XL or 10XL.

I'm guessing they used a small motor because first gear is still being used. It still may be too hot as Serum said.

They are not known for their high price, but with this e-revo they brake their tradition. It's overpriced. As simple as that. 1000 bucks.. I guess they took lessons from CFD. Why buy this one, when you can have the gmaxx?

8L is a bad choice for the revo. Waay too hot. The 9L is working his butt off on 12 cells allready.

Thanks! I don't use double-sided tape because it's messy to remove and clean up. I much rather use zip ties. The only reason I didn't use zip ties on the ESC is because There really isn't a good spot for it.

The velcro is just the long roll of it network admins use to tie CAT5 cables and such.

Yeah, the current $66 price is OK, the BIN price of $999 is not.

lol... next step up from the dual 970s would be a 5 pound automotive starter motor

Starter motors actually have about the same power as our brushless motors. They are rated for about 1400W, but they make it at much lower rpm's, so it's all about the torque, baby!
