Try BrianG's speed calc worksheet. Should gove you an idea of what to expect.

Just wondering why you chose the L can vs the XL. A 7xl would be a great motor for your purposes and even with the slightly lower KV the bigger can would let you gear up higher and get more speed than the 8L.

I seen my bro run a 8L in his emaxx. It was mostly stock as well.
It ran hot all the time. I think 7xl is much better. I had better temps and
faster than his. Then again he was hard on it. I won't easy on mine either.
I would run 12 if you going to do it. Gear down kind of low. Then you can see
what happens.

Peace!

That is one wicked hot setup! 12 cells will make that motor hot, leave alone the 14 cells! if you are planning on making it an every day ride, you need some proper diffs on your maxx! it will rip!

BTW with 12 good cells (very good cells) you should be able to hit the 50mph with that setup.

Yup. Serum is right. I hit around 50 with a very similar setup (on 12 Sanyo 2400 NiCads...).

Can you say ''hell no'' dont waste your money on those. Maybe for your flashlight.:005: But your brushless system will run terible on those (if it even runs). Like Phildog said...At a minumum get the GP3300. As far as Nimh goes, I really like the IB3800 for the price. Cheap batteries DO NOT WORK for these high amp applications.
