ok, im back, and the crt future could be strong! - 05.13.2007, 04:40 PM

well guys i was goin to do a all al, cf mlst, BUT i cant pull wheelies without risking the diffs

so hows the .5's diffs doin? i wont lock the center, but im doin really thick oil, so basicailly, and that will be like that till im sick of it

i already got the mm 5700kv and speedo, got lots of batts but will prob get some limn's or so and mikes motor mount, and some angle cf for the batt mount and upper tray to stiffen the chassis, and have a mount for the mm and spektrum

thx!:018:

The CRT.5's diffs are basically standard 8th scale buggy diffs in a shallower cup. Since the .5 is lighter than any 8th scale buggy, there should be less strain on them and should last quite a bit longer.

thx brain, im reading ur whole thread as we speak lol, but u dont think the diffs will hastle me?

what gearin would u say? mikes pinions arent cheap to do them, so id rather not spend a ton on pinions, unless there different ones, got a link to them? any news on the derlin spur so i odnt have to spend extra on hardend..

is there room to stick a normal servo in there? i would cut the tabs off and stick it down, works on all my cars just fine, i use a lil ca also LOL, or if u dont think so, got a link to the one u use?

Nope, the diffs should be just fine. Of course, over time, you are gonna want to change the fluid as it'll probably get dirty (as any diffs do).

No one knows about the spurs yet. I wouldn't go buying Mod1 just yet, because I think the spur for the .5 will be 32p, but not sure yet. Hardened pinions would work as long as the gear mesh is VERY solid, but finding a small hardened pinion (~13T) that is Mod1, yet with a 1/8" bore can be difficult.

A normal servo should fit if you cut the mounting tabs off and stick it down, but it probably would weigh more. I would measure just in case.

i dont care on wieght, one less thing i have to buy, my spektrum came with those 2 servos, and i could use those, id rather do that then buy more lil ones..could u mesure for me? i dont have mine yet

what pinions are u using?

if it works for u, works for me LOL i will use mikes mount, with the cf batt tray, and prob a top deck to go with that, so i tihnk flez will be fine, but id like to do mikes stuff

and yeah i know cleaning, just dont want stripping on me lol

thx for the help!

and i will cheack out that servo

In this topic a company is in the process or just finished making a mount for a full sized servo, as well as an extended chassis I think. If you don't want to buy the new mount though, I am petty sure Brian and some others use the Hitec 225.

Edit: Brian beat me to it.

A std size servo is going to be a tight fit with the pinion I just took a look and you will have to remove the rear servo mount or flip the rear mount and bolt it to the outside of the servo to get it in there?

BCE is working on an extended chassis with a std size steering servo.:)
Here is a link to the picks of the new chassis and top plate

You know what I just took a closer look and a full size servo will hit the center diff if you move it over to clear your steering arm is going to be past the chassis line:002: looking at the BCE chassis he extended it from the center diff forward to get more room for the full size servo. you can see how close the mini servo is to the diff in the pic. I also dont like the idea of sticking the servo down on a 4lb 4wd truck it's ok for lighter cars like 10th scale buggys and 2wd trucks.

The diff's are holding up great I removed mine and filled them they were not full from the factory.:( You dont have to go to heavy on the diff oil to get it to wheelie I tried 10000wt and with the 5700 MM and 3s lipo there no problem. I have Jammin Jays set up in mine also and it worked great at the track. :)

I'm running Jammin Jay's setup. It's treating me right so far at the track.
