well i know it isnt a MMM, but it might be the next best thing that i can actually afford... how does this esc look? handles up to 5s. 100A constant 120A surges... i dont need high amps. mega motors dont pull much. like 70A max i think. and i will be running on 3 and 4s so im not above the limit...

It's only $40 less than the MMM if you use the coupon code. Are you sure you can't come up with 40 dollars?

I'm contcted the place that makes them. Just waiting on price. Danlions were the first ones that came out with one of those, but I guess this company added a fan.

It doesn't look too bad for $100. At least it already has car firmware so you wont need a PiStix adapter like with plane esc's. If you end up getting one make sure you write a review.

I saw that too. I believe you get what you pay for, and I'm holding out for an MMM

I can promise you this won't do everything a Monster will be able to. The price on the monster is already very cheap, considering what all the other high end controllers suited to MT are priced at. Heck, even the 199 retail price is not half bad if it does all of what it's rated for.

They do offer a program box and you can also do it with your PC. http://www.danlions.com/esc/master/dlc.html

Edit: I just looked a Danlions and they are not the same. That one seems like the one found in the Cheap HV controller thread, but smaller like the one I have for planes. Just be carful and make sure it is the car controller and not the airplane one. Sorry for the mixup.

I forgot to mention, I did try the 30A car controller those Asian companies offer and they are not that good. Just get a Monster Max or even a Mamba Max.

To me this looks to be the equivilant of the Mamba Max, not the Monster max. It calls out 15 cel niMH wich at peak charge is right about 24v. I'm betting all of the components are 25v and they are specing it right to the limit. Similar to the way some (including me) are running the MM on 5s lipo. It doesnt leave much head room on the voltage for any spikes due to braking, but I bet it would work as well as a MM does. I like the built in fan hooked right into the esc, but I wonder what kind of BEC it is. I'm guessing its just a linear regulator that will generate alot of heat on 5s so you would probably end up running an external BEC as well. By the time you get done jacking around with it you would probably be better off just preordering the MMM for $145 before they are gone.

But... I do like the programing screen that comes with it. I wish CC would do that. I hate the computer programing. USB is great for at home, but I dont drag my computer to the the track so it really sucks for being able to make adjustments as I'm running it. The hand held unit like that woud be really nice.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

The program box seems to be the only plus right now .

Wouldn't this be a cheaper better controller? Handles 6s 100amps for $63. People seem to have good luck with them. I recently got the 12s 100amp version for my erevo, but haven't had a chance to hook it up yet. Oh and the programming card is awesome!

Is this along the lines of the 30a you tried. I was thinking about picking one up to try on a 380c in a old rc10, but If its not even worth that I guess I will just skip it. What kind of problems did you have with it?

Not sure about the quality, but for that price range, this one would probably do better:

I'm just gonna wait for the MMM for the support services though...
