I forgot to mention, I did try the 30A car controller those Asian companies offer and they are not that good. Just get a Monster Max or even a Mamba Max.

Is this along the lines of the 30a you tried. I was thinking about picking one up to try on a 380c in a old rc10, but If its not even worth that I guess I will just skip it. What kind of problems did you have with it?

Not really. The one I tried is one of the first units made by Danlions. They might have become better with the addition of the other AMP ratings. I will be getting a sample from the place that makes the same controller on that link. Like I said before the company gets them as a kit and all they do is assemble them with the MOSFET and Caps they like. I'm still searching for the source that makes the kits.

Edit: I will start a new thread when a new ESC for car gets here. It was shipped yesterday and I just tracked and this is what it says , "A FLIGHT DELAY OCCURRED BECAUSE OF MECHANICAL REASONS."

To me this looks to be the equivilant of the Mamba Max, not the Monster max. It calls out 15 cel niMH wich at peak charge is right about 24v. I'm betting all of the components are 25v and they are specing it right to the limit. Similar to the way some (including me) are running the MM on 5s lipo. It doesnt leave much head room on the voltage for any spikes due to braking, but I bet it would work as well as a MM does. I like the built in fan hooked right into the esc, but I wonder what kind of BEC it is. I'm guessing its just a linear regulator that will generate alot of heat on 5s so you would probably end up running an external BEC as well. By the time you get done jacking around with it you would probably be better off just preordering the MMM for $145 before they are gone.

But... I do like the programing screen that comes with it. I wish CC would do that. I hate the computer programing. USB is great for at home, but I dont drag my computer to the the track so it really sucks for being able to make adjustments as I'm running it. The hand held unit like that woud be really nice.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

The program box seems to be the only plus right now .

Wouldn't this be a cheaper better controller? Handles 6s 100amps for $63. People seem to have good luck with them. I recently got the 12s 100amp version for my erevo, but haven't had a chance to hook it up yet. Oh and the programming card is awesome!
