Sounds like you need something made from thicker rubber more than anything, or something like a real tyre that has canvas woven into it to resist stretching and ballooning. A rubber tube glued to a rim would kick ass though for sure, so long as its about 5.5-6" in diameter and about 4" wide- mucho traction....

I'm talking to my cousin now and he said it'll be possible to make a tire that can handle the speed. He said they're doing drag tires now as well for full size cars and they can have different mixtures of rubber for higher traction if needed. This is sounding good so far. I'm going to send him some rims and will see what happens.

look into under trays. Simple sheet metal work but if done right, you can reduce drag under the chassis and if REALLY done right, you can create a low pressure vacuum and actually get the car to stick to the ground. Thats one way a lot of race cars deal with elevation change and actually increases yaw stability. I think itll be worth someone looking into. I dont go over 50 so i dont really have interest in it...only for the real race cars/ gokart on roids

Main thing I have found is, get a wing on the nose. Mine tends to lift off quite a bit.

Also its time for a new Neu motor. I want more power...

Also the XLB is done with foamy tires on it. Buddy took it out for some runs on them instead of the phaltline wheels and tires since I didn't have time to drive it. First pass car did 87.3mph, 2nd pass 94.2mph and 3rd pass with modded wing for less drag got a nice 96.1mph. Going to be neat to see a BIG 1/7th scale XTM XLB buggy break 100mph! BTW, that is on 12S.

I need them with a brake and reverse though. The Turnigy's don't have squat.

Perhaps you should add some servo operated flaps to the wings...

I've actually thought of something similar. Ever see the Chrysler Crossfire SRT6? The wing self adjusts as you go faster to increase the downforce. It would be simple to do with a small servo and 4 channel radio. You could adjust at speed. Or you could use something like a modified OptiDrive so it does it without human input.

The answer is no. And yes, mine is faster.
