Wanted - Small project box...

Can anyone recommend a small project / rx box that will fit a MM - I'd like to mount my MM's on the front of my clod but they must be boxed for rollovers etc...

Can anyone validate the measurements - ESC overall: 1.9" x 1.3" x 1.2"

I checked radio shack online but nothing looked suitable...

It might be tough to find a box that will be the perfect size for the ESC. Plus, the RS enclosures have internal posts for the lid screws and raised grooves for PCBs. The posts and grooves can be dremeled out, but then you have to find a different way to keep the lid on.

I've also modified those boxes if too long by cutting a section out with a miterbox and then glueing the halves together. Not too pretty though.

You could also make your own out of lexan/plexi.

That one should fit it. The heatsink might rub on the lid, but I suppose you would make a cut-out to allow for cooling anyways.

Only running in a crawler so not too worried about heat - I was thinking about mounting esc on side so close 1.2" = 30.5mm...

The idea is to protect it so don't really want to expose caps or sink...

But isn't the 1.2" from the bottom of the case to the top of the HS? You'd be putting the 1.3" side in the 30mm space.

I havn't got one in front of me but assumed 1.2 was width and 1.3 height... If 1.2 is height of caps it will be a touch snugg - Might be able to dremel the box a bit..

But you now have me wondering if internal or external measurements... lol

Try a hitec servo box. I see many of the guys on rccrawler use them.

I doubt you are going to hit it unless you are mounting it waaay up front and high. Like on a stick
