People have succes with the new emaxx tranny, and I do like it, and have used/will continue to use it in my custom builds. But it is not superior in any way to the stock Lst setup.
And I definitley plan on being one of those people - jumps and ensueing carnage are what this is all about!

I wasn't aware that the strobe only fit the old tranny. Oh well - guess I'll donate that to my brother in law.

I'm not sure that I will be using the maxx motor mount plate - I may end up putting the motor on a seperate mount so it faces the tranny and lines up down the center of the rig. I'm also not sure that I'll run Mod1. I have some of those modded MGT spurs somewhere in the pile. But all my other rigs run 32P, and I may just try to be consistent with them.

ps - I would never venture to say that maxx tranny is in any way superior to the LST tranny - since I dont have any experience with that tranny.

can't you just use nitro revo spurs on an e-revo/e-maxx tranny? that's what I used on my buddy's rustler to run mod1, works fine.

Is the top of your diff mount the same as the upper level of the bulks? You seem to have a bit of cf lying around- custom make a top plate with a narrow part running past the servo back to the diff mount.

I was in the middle of figureing that out when you posted. Heres what I was thinking.

I don't know whether the FDR would be acceptable or not, but nitro Revo's run 34-40T spurs as not much else fits those trucks. But I do know they are alot smaller diameter than the 58-68T availible for the E-maxx/revo trans.

Ok, sounds like the erevo motor mount setup would work better for you. It is a bit stronger, but I would like to see an al case for that tranny as it does trake the motor weight however. Sounds like you have the other bases covered. Have fun with your build!

You can but they would be very small and I doubt you will fit smaller than 22t spurs, maybe not even that small if you plan to run a finned neu sized motor. The rustler 48p gears are closer to the size of the revo mod 1 spurs.

But....Once you add the cost of that tranny case, another tranny for internals(or buy the internlas piecemeal) and a better motor plate you have eclipsed the cost of the tdr stuff, and you still have to make stuff. And I still do not think it is as good. All of the internal gears in the lst tranny are steel, and to me the fit and finish is better than the traxxas stuff.

But if you like making stuff or have the parts hanging around go for it!!! It is fun building stuff!

Finially A decent update, with Pics - 01.27.2010, 05:41 PM

Had time last night and today to work solid for a few hours and got a lot done. I'm sure I'll get mixed replys and comments or flat out told I'm a dumass ? I felt the 1800kv was acbit much for the truck and decided to put it in something much heavier. I recently purchased this Tekin 2000kv that is brand new and have decided to try it in the truck. I'm down to a 10-11T pinion but this is merely to so how well it'll work. If it's questionable then I might go with a 1500 Tekin motor if the fellow still has it availible or sumthin' else ?

Still waiting for my other shock tower and the body, should be here Thursday and then I can button this thing up and do some testing. I've had a lot of little problems with this build but it's ben a lot of fun. No regrets so far. Only hope it'll handle as well as I hope. I know it's not a bonified truggy but I'm optomistic that'll It'll be competitive with the the buddys whom can't drive worth a shiz with real truggys ?

Oh, the Dynamite Aluminum lower arms are 4 grams heavier than stock plastic, not much at all ! So, wire wheeled them, sprayed on some zinc chromate and some flat black. BAM ! stealth arms.

Heres what I do with most of my receivers in RC's without a radio box, CA'd HPI antenna mount directly to the case. Makes swapping stuff easy. I also take old servo plugs and remove the wires and fill w/thick CA and install into empty plug holes to help dirt out of RX's

VERY ANXIOUS.

Looking good puttypants. I like the trimmed down bumper, looks strong, yet sleek. Kinda like a young Sean Connery.

Thanks Pimple, Wish I could say the same for the rear. It just didn't have a nice shape to start with let alone when whittled down. O-well ?

I agree - I think I'll do that for mine. But I personally would liken it to Lucy Liu....we'll let Linc swing which ever way he wants........!!!!

She is a bit crosseyed... But still tasty. Buffet style! I only mentioned Sean as I know Harold flips his chair over and humps the ground at the mere thought of Mr Connery.
