I would say they are top notch. Specially if you go with the ACn22/50 line of motors.

My Medusa didn't make it yesterday, hopefully it will be here today. The 6xl showed up, it was supposed to be a 3.175mm shaft and it's 5mm:( I could turn it down but I'm thinking about sending it back.

Those 22/50's look sweet but I think a $300 price tag takes it well out of the mid range. The available Kv's look better suited to HV.

I've always considered the Mega's an upper mid level motor. I bought my two mega's back when they were new to the U.S. market and the exchange rate was very favorable, not the case any more. So I feel they are a bit over priced now.

It's Here! The Medusa arrived today, initial impression is not as strong as pulling a Nue from its packaging. It is a nice looking motor just not as smoothly finished as the one Nue I have.

Off to get it soldered in for some runs:D

NICE! How many days did it take to get from them to you?

I wonder if mine is sitting back home waiting for me...

Ohhhh....turns out mine is waiting for me at home too...... WOOHOO!

It was three days maybe four. Very quick really.

Just got done with the first run with it! 9 min and the temp was under 100f. I did eagle tree it but the ET temp loop slipped off and all I had for temps was an MIP onboard.

I was running a 13t/68t gear set and it seems a bit lower power overall than the Ammo with the same gears.

Here is the amp/volt data for the Medusa.

Ammo data graph.

Dang I'll need to redo the Ammo data I seem to have started on less than a full charge that run. I also had the ET set for a two pole motor so my RPM reading are goofed for the medusa run.

Interesting. The Medusa pulled less current than the Ammo. I wonder if that's because of its 4 pole design having an affect on the kt. Good temperatures though! Definitely looking forward to mine now. Since the Medusa is 4 poles, gearing up would probably wake it up some and get you some serious power (that seems to be what they like).

What cell count/type are you running? I'm guessing NiMH and 12 or 14 cells.

Sorry thought that was on one of the logs, I'm running a 5s2p A123 pack.

I just put on a 14t for the next run, the boy wanted a ride in the RZR so I had to take a break from the truck and go looking for mud. He came in and showed Mom his cool mud pox, LOL

Anyway i'm going to try out this 14t, with the temp loops better attached and the gear ratio/pole count set right.

Back in a few.

Nice. Thanks for the info on the batteries. I was wondering why the voltage didn't match up too well with NiMH or typical lipos....:D I forgot you said you run 5s2p A123s. D'oh!

Just came in for another run this time on 14t pinion.

The puases are me checking the onboard temp guage I repositioned it and cant see it through the body now. The temp climed to 114.7 after I powered down. ESC temps peaked at around 140f

Power felt more on par with the Ammo this run, and its obvious the motor has more to give. Too dark to continue today.

Was catching some big air with it tonight. Cleared the two lane gravel road by a good 5' so I'm luanching it a good 30' long and 8-9' high, Awesome!!!

Forgot to mention the Prop RPM is wheel speed and I'm running Mulcher tires with molded foams so there is very little tire ballooning.

Wow, not too bad at all. 115 on the motor pushing 1000 watt peaks. Not too bad. From the graphs and the temperature, it seems like the Medusa is a pretty efficient little motor.

Thanks for the information buzzsaw. I'm quite glad I invested in one of these suckers now.

Para, There is one for sale at the dealer I got mine from. Ya, it's an awesome toy makes my 500H.O. seem like a joke. Cant wait to get tunes in it, I have a PPI amp and some blua speakers going in to it with my cell phones MP3 player I'll be set.

where in MN do you live? I'm SE about 30 miles south of Rochester.

5 oh, I think these Medusa's were well worth the price!! First run tomarrow will be with the 15t, then I'm thinking drop to 4s and gear up to a 19t and see how the motor copes.

shakopee, that's cool, theres a few of us from mn here. over on the traxxas forums they are getting a bash session together in mankato for late june at a bmx track, I gotta register, but I'll post more info here in the general discussion section when I know it. I got to ride a grizzly with a 660 and that was balls to the walls power, and i've seen rhinos move, that RZR must be nuts! Nice action shot!
