Lol, if you got that close, you deserve whatever smell you got!

And back to the thread topic: I redid the rear cover from a metal one to a plastic one. The holes are better and everything lines up better.

Although, the screen/mesh, Al tape, and foam ideas are good too! It's nice to see multiple solutions to the same problem.

I actualy used a circle cutter for cutting holes in lexan and cut 4 circles out of the aluminum tape stuck them together used that same cutter to cut a small hole for where the bearing is in the center. Then cut the top of the circle off where the wires come out.So far it hasnt come loose but its easy enough to make another. It also atracts dust to the adhesive.

I did my Neu with the Aluminum tape last night. Worked fairly well. I took a file to the edges, and it looks factory installed. I did however find a small problem. I had removed the Neu/MMM a week or so ago and set it on the bench. When I started doing the taping, I initially picked them both up and moved them to my work spot - assuming they were still connected. After a little turning and looking at it, without thinking about it, I set the MMM aside. Well, after I finished the tape job, and was admiring my work, I noticed that every one of my bullet connectors was missing!
Sure enough, they were still attached to the MMM. Looks as though nothing stuck to the bullet side on all three. Lesson learned, all the money in the world cant buy a good enough soldering iron to make a bad solderer a good one.

Brian, my offer......please........

i just cut oblong circles out of electrical tape and let the edges hang over the endbell as well as the front of the motor and then secured it in place with a band of scotch tape on the top and sides. it looks completely sealed.
