Muggy has arrived - 10.18.2008, 02:25 PM

Well my muggy got here. I wasn't sure if I should put it in the nitro area as its not brush less yet. I have some major plans but I have too collect on a few debts before anything starts... Well I snapped a few pics then the batts in the cam died. I dont have any hex drivers on hand so I cant disassemble it any further as I would like too so I can clean it. It has some pretty nice nitro parts if there is such a thing, they should get some of the costs on ebay. if anyone wants more pics I will get them but any good detailed ones will have to wait until I get a set of drivers.

Well I got some wrenches today and started too tear down and clean the muggy. Tons of nitro mess. I was planning on running it nitro until I compiled all of the necessary electronics but now I am reconsidering. Well I need too start selling things, I have a bunch of wheels and tired I got with it that I dont need. Anyone want two sets of muggy tires and a set of hubs? What about 40 series CF's on Wabash wheels? I am not going to sell the engine until I have every thing ready too drop in. Do you think a neu 1521 2900 kv would be too high in here?

I would use the 1521 1Y (1577kv), mine does great on 1515 2.5D (1650kv)

Funny,

I am in the exact same process of converting a Muggy. I am keeping the Muggy wheels/tires though. I sent Mike an email if he could make a motor mount which places the motor above the center diff. That way I can run split lipo packs, 6,8 or 10s. I'd lose mechanical brakes, but I wasn't planning on using them anyway. I hope he replies soon...

I agree.
ratio 4.09
1521 1900kv
12/46
proline badland
16018 7s
16018 is a lot of capacity.
I think that it is 1,521 1Y (1577kv) best fitting.
The mechanical brakes are usable when I use the big pinion in 1521 1Y (1577kv).

Congrats on the Muggy, they're a great truck. If you're going with a 1521 go with a bigger pinion, I ran a 13T on my 1515 and it worked very well. Definitely get the 1Y if you are getting the 1521, and make sure your lipos can put out 120 amps for ~10 seconds or so (more is better, but that's the minimum I'd run).

The 16018 is a good ESC, I run one in mine and it seems to do really well (mine was just mounted with 2 zipties going crossways, kinda tacky but it held it in really well).

All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.

Thanks, I was thinking that with the motor being bigger that I could run the higher kv and still have the needed grunt. I was also liking the kv too run with 4s.

I wouldn't run the high KV one, stick to the 1Y. It'll run cooler and pull a TON fewer amps.
