question though.. which battery tray should i get? there is a Losi tray thats cheap, but works. DickyT says i have to countersink some holes or something? not sure if i should go with this one or the more expensive one on here.

please give me some advice asap. i need to order this today. the Lipo and charger should be here tomorrow or the next day and i have no way to secure it.

option 1

option 2
Get option 2. The RCM tray for $35 is a great deal.

There's two sides to every schwartz, he got the up side and I got the down side.

ok so i am out of town and a bit bored so i will update on my progress.

so far, the front brakes are gone, saved some weight. battery tray is out but no picks yet. the RCM tray should be waiting on me when i get back to town. i have cleaned up all my solder joints and used heat shrink to make it clean. i dont want to mount anything just yet. i came across an issue with mounting the body on. there wasnt enough room to get the back body hole and mount lines up flush. the MMM's wires are sticking up too much. so i can either mount them sideways to the bullets or move the MMM to the opposite side of the motor and behind the battery tray. again, we will see when the tray gets here and how much room i have to play with.

update. got the tray... but it is the wrong size. i can only fit the battery up and not sideways laying down.

but here are some more pics as of right now. i did the best job cleaning up from my run just now. but its still dirty. he still needs a good bath.

check out the tires. this is after 1 run. compare the back to the front.
2 things.. they are now unusable in the grass or dirt and they are not aligned properly

my springs need to come in more cause i am hitting the ol 3 wheel motion around turns.

back set up

front set up

doh!

you can do what dickyt and I both did to our trays;

cut the side off....but beware, it does weaken the integrity of the tray itself.

I think dickyt ended up cracking the front off of his in a crash....probably wouldnt have happened if he didnt cut the side off....

...its still useable tho!

Well now I blew my 8xl and ordered a new medusa. So I got a few weeks to toy around. Might buy myself a body and wheels to get started on. Battery tray I will be ok with.

I blew the front wall out of mine with both sides still on it. It was a real quick stop aided by a tree in 30*F weather. I just flipped it around and re-mounted it.

Well I have been known to hit ankles, my own feet and my dogs. Never once put myself in the sitution to hit a tree.

Does anyone have any objections to my mounting option? Any past experiance led to trama in the ER?

well i got notice from Medusa that my motor will be here within 3 weeks. so no more play time for me right now.

and next time Dicky comes up here, maybe you can swing by for a little bit then we all go over to the track. there are also alot of fields around my house. dirt, grass, sand, etc. many to choose from.
