Neu upgrades their motors yet agian! - 05.22.2009, 12:06 AM

i dunno if this is new but its new news to me. We just recived a motor back from service which has obviuos been completely replaced, and has quite a few notable changes.

-has a 16x5x4 front bearing, with the 13x5x4 rear bearing.
-has a removeable front endbell thats keyed in place with setscrew through both pieces
-has hex hardware holding the rear endbell on no more phillips!
-has grommets on wires, which are also double insulated
-has both m3 and m4 holes on a standard 25mm pattern.
-case is machined to where the fins start further back on the motor (to allow for machanical brakes better i assume.....?

but the stupid thing doesnt have a flat spot on the shaft so i gotta tear it down and fix that, but i looks pretty good. only other squak i have about it is that the way the front endbell is layed out you cant use mikes front cover/plate......

here are the pics.

1st pic shows the new removable front bell, spacing, m3 and m4 holes, and the massive bearing.

2nd shows the fin spacing and the set screw keying the front endbell

3rd shows the hex hardware, grommets, insulation, 13mm bearing, and according to my caliper a thick rear case aroung the endbell...

More hand porn...

I will have to get a closer look at the 1521 1y I just got. It definitely has the 3 piece can, but looked to have just a m4 thread 25mm pattern on it...

I will take some pics of it tomorrow and throw them up here.
