It's ghetto. That's all I can say. It started out pretty good with the motor mount, then it just got really ghetto.

I'm having trouble getting the motors to sync up at startup. It just makes a sound or spins out, take your pick. I tried changing the settings, but all I can change is the battery type and brake on/off. The escs are the weak link. Maybe I can find a better esc... mamba 25? Two really cheap?

I ended up using a y adapter with the radio connectors on the controllers. I just couldn't get them to spin together with the radio. It was a 100% trim to the right and it still wasn't good enough. The Y adapter solved that issue.

Once it starts up, the thing TAKES OFF. I thought it would be controllable on 2s, but that might be an overstatement.

Back off clean wiring freaks. This is ghetto.

Haha, nice! You can probably find two Mamba 25s for pretty cheap on RCC. I sold one for like $25 a while back.

That chassis and gearbox mount won't last long though...

Just had a big scare. The esc's wouldn't do anything. I took it back and resoldered all the motor wires. Then after that didn't work, I checked the voltage of the battery. I didn't get a reading out of the deans plug. Crap. I tore open the battery and didn't find anything but a good soldering job. I eventually pulled the red wire from the deans plug and it came right off from the good solder joint. It broke right before the solder. I re-attached it and now It's recharging from 2.92v/cell. This battery is becoming as ghetto as the truck!

It will be fast though... I hope with a fully charged battery the startup will be smoother too.

No one cares.

We only care about the videos!

The motor mount has a little flex in it, but it is going to get some work as it will fail if I don't fix it, due to bending in crashes. (spinouts)

I'll make a vid once I get most of the bugs worked out, so wait until christmas and you'll see a vid..

And since you were so worried, the battery is fine, charged it at .1a and now it's at 7.4v.

Why wouldn't they work with a pistol grip radio? They work fine, and they're http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=6456

Maybe they're sensing a bigger motor? Maybe I shouldn've gone with the smaller 10a one?

servo is very fast compared to stock - http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...?idProduct=663

motors again while I'm at it - http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=8478

They are setup for Air radios which have differnt settings which is why the Pisticks(sp) adapter came about.

Now wheres the vid?

You think since the BL motors are so dam small a single Mamba 25 will power both ?
Your not going to need 4s, 2 & 3s should enough to get ballistic speeds if controlable.
Interesting concept,VERY creative.
Need Video.

no-no-no-no

with the motors both spinning, the esc would be seeing 2 different emf pulses. and couldnt cope with it- and would promptly fail. the only way of even attemtping this would have the motors on a common shaft for connected to a common spur to keep the motors perfectly in time.

I only posted one other time in this thread, and felt I must chime in.

Holy micro r/c batman! That thing is frickin' awesome. I love the idea and the out of the box thinking. RCM worthy all the way. Just frickin' awesome.

Stop worrying about the ghettoness. (You'll offend Lincgimp and nitronuts)

Just say you're still in the "R&D stage"

Peace brotha!

Thanks Paralyzed. Love the words of wisdom

I just tried er out this morning with a fully charged battery.

The startup is much better. Much. I took it outside and got to about 1/3 trottle when it did a wheelie and flipped into the grass. I broke a front steering link. Time to upgrade those! I'll see if I can make some links in the meantime... I'll get some vids in the future too.
