I had a 13t on my hobby wing system in my CRT and motor was 150deg/f and lipo's 115deg/f and esc 90deg.So went up to 15t and motor was 145deg esc and lipo's round 90deg/f.So going to try a 14t this weekend and see.Should be sweet spot I think..BTW i'm running the 2300kv HW system on 4s!

But getting my Tekin RX8 tomorrow with 2050kv motor.Think 15t will be good there!

on 4s i would gear around 35mph for best efficiency and cool temps, the bottom end power will not draw as many amps

Why would you want to use such a small pinion gear with a such a huge spur gear. I have a 17t spur with 62t Mutilator spur gear with 2300kv motor and 4/5s and its is dam slow.

you are geared for 47mph on 4s and 60 on 5s not including tire ballooning, i think your system is under too much load to get up to speed if u think it is too slow with a 17 tooth pinion and a 2300kv motor, i used a 14t pnion on the 62spur with factory diffs on 5s and neu 1515 1y geared for about 46 and it was plenty fast and was not under alot of stress , cool running setup. also the reason to use a smaller pinion with such a large spur is that the crt x1 has buggy diff's in it and does not use the truggy diff ratio which is why it uses the large spur.
