They are quite similar -- consider that Steve Neu will be getting royalties on sales from these motors...

I like the 1717 motor. Looks like a good 1521 1y substitute. I really like the 1521 for the larger 1/8 scale stuff, so I have a feeling I will be snagging some of the 1717 motors when I get a chance.

The big motor looks really good for a 5th scale conversion, or maybe a pair in a large 60+" cat...

High voltage. You know, 10S is good, 12S is better and 14-20S would hit the spot. Good thing we're not in Europe.

I think BrianG want something a bit smaller than the 1512 equivalents. Maybe a 1506-1509 sized motor, and maybe something a little smaller again, like a 13? series motor around 50mm long. Basically a 4 pole replacement for the cm36 motors.

Yeah, it is a good think. Not only would we be so poor from paying taxes that we could not afford hobbies, we would also be stuck waiting in long lines for health care. And you could not even shoot yourself if you wanted too.

Good grief! That 2025 motor would make a good e-bike motor and would probably carry my fat butt around, let alone an r/c!

Linc's right; I was thinking of something a bit smaller. Basically a line of motors in between the CM36 series and the 15xx series. Medusa had a solid line of motors in that segment; the 36-50's were stronger than the CM36 motors (sorry to say that here, but it's true), so were a better choice for heavier 10th scales (eg: Slash) or smaller 4WD vehicles (eg: CRT.5). I tried a CM36 4600 motor on 2s and 3s in my CRT.5 and couldn't gear it low enough to keep the motor and ESC cool, whereas the 36-50-3300 stays cool and has noticeably more torque, even geared a little aggressively. Medusa's 36-60mm motors were good for the really light-weight buggies or overpowered 10th scales (or allowed higher gearing for 10th scale speed freaks). In short, that would mean 1506/1509 or 1409 sizes if using Neu ratings.

Taxes are taxes, but that's not what I meant lol. In Europe, you're not allowed to make our wonderful ESCs over 60V lol.

Also coming. I didn't post a picture of the 1307 and 1309 motors, both of which are in prototyping now.

My Muggy is begging for one of those 1717s, I'll be ordering one when they come out!

Will the 1717 series use 3mm or 4mm mounting screws?
