Er, why? Is there really a need for a flat-bottom chassis? I can see having a center diff in a brushless Savage (I want one for mine... Mike!), but otherwise can't see much reason. I suppose you get a bit lower CoG, and it might in some cases be a bit easier to work on.
Most of the bodies probably will end up leaving a gap; in a standard Savage the TVPs are visible which looks ok. But without the TVPs the gap will expose electronics, etc. from the side so (as it is on when I put a SC8 body on my RC8Te) you might want to make some lexan sidewalls that can be painted and put up to 'cover' the gap. Either that or make the middle of the chassis like 2" wider on each side and then rollup the sides for 2" walls.
