Yup, ran mine on the street yesterday and its insane. There is so much torque on tap that punching the throttle at any speed just breaks the tires loose and it starts getting all squirrelly, what a blast. Currently geared at 20/52 but planning to gear up for some speed runs. The MMM/2200kv combo barely broke a sweat.

I figure no problem...so I head off to the LHS for some screws. Well I found out they don't sell screws individually and were only available in a kit at a price of $50.00!. Luckily I had a friend who had a few spares laying around.
I ended up picking up some Traxxas screws to finish it up. they are sold in a pack of 4 or 5. I used 1 pack of 4m button head and 1 pack of 3m countersunk. Plus they had threadlock on them all ready.:) I ran it last weekend on a bigger track with a 3s 5000mah pack, 2200 mamba monster system w/ a 19t pinion. It was a little slow on the straights, but very controable on every where else. could use a bigger pinion, i will try a 21 or 22 next. temps w/ the 19t hit around 80-90 deg. F. 4s is just wicked!! I got a set of black chrome rims and losi king pins. they are smaller then the stock tires but look great on it.

Thanks, good to know.

Last night I mounted one of my old cell phone's with a built in GPS and speed program in the car to measure its speed. I ran about three passes and manged a top speed of 41mph. I might of squeezed more out of it but on my third pass one of those dam curbs came out of nowhere and sent the car airborne into a artistic flip consisting of cartwheels, somersaults and tipple axles (you know the ones that seem to go in slow motion). It survived the crash with only minor flesh wounds but I decided not to push my luck and called it a night. Brian, your top speed calculator was pretty much bang on.

This thread has been quiet lately....I figured everyone was busy gluing wheels

You don't happen to have the Traxxas Part number laying around, do you? I'm having the same screw issue with the screws not fitting properly. I've gone through all my screws but didn't even think to pull out the ole Traxxas parts. If they don't fit, i'll just order some up.

Thanks!

4x4 SC - 04.26.2010, 06:09 PM

I'll second or third the request to make a version of this that could be a short course 4x4 for us racers. A longer chassis with longer center rear dogbone or universal and some 12mm hex's would be awesome. Maybe some kind of adapter or way to mount existing SC bumpers from a traxxas or associated sc truck.

Maybe some tracks limit "project" cars, but many like mine don't. I would have to make the truck go on a diet because 2s with a Novak HV4.5 would be within our rules. It just seems like this would be an awesome platform for 4x4SC. The body's, wheels and tires are out there that would make it fit the dimensions required.

Could someone measure the part LOSB4003 (Steering Turnbuckles). The length in total and length from start of thread to other start of thread. I ended up taking parts off my truck to give to a customer and then my turnbuckles were mis-shipped and didn't make our last order... I'm trying to retrofit some Traxxas ones for the time being (I know... I know).

I ended up giving the guy all 6 of them so I don't have any to measure.

Thanks!

If you have an 8ight, just make them 8ight% smaller!

Thanks for the tip... I don't have an 8ight...

The Jato turnbuckles can be used however the pillow balls are a little too small to accept the stock screws.

I ended up just finishing the conversion, gluing some wheels/tires, modifying some Revo 17mm hexes to fit, etc... and now just wait for the proper turnbuckles to arrive.

Until then I'm going to get some wheel time on the SC8-E (wow, what a blast!), and the LST-E.
