Is there an easy way to unglue a tire and re-use it?

Heat, or acetone. Put it in the oven for X deg for X time and then you can just push the tire off, use gloves. Or soak the whole wheel tire in a can of actetone with the lid on.

Not sure what temps or time for the oven, but someone else will chime in. Bondoballz had a vid or something explaining it.

i like the acetone fumes method...

put about a cm of acetone at the bottom of a sealable container, chuck tires in on top, shake it about to cover the tires, leave for 2 days,

tires peel straight off, then just rough up the bead and ready to be reglued!

I wrap them in aluminum foil, put on a cookie sheet, and like my mother always said, when in doubt bake at 350F. Twenty minutes should do the job, but if not - bake some more. I definitely recommend doing this when the wife isn't home, since kitchen will smell a bit of burnt rubber.

I have struggled with heating method too many times, plus when you do get it off it still had the crystalized glue on the beads. Acetone hands down, never again will I heat a tire.

Is acetone safe for the foam and the rubber of the tire? I used to boil my tires but searching for a better way.

Also your dinner might taste like rubber too. Not sure how you will explain that to the wife.

I had some foams react very badly and some not too bad. Some swell up to roughly double the size and then shrink back once the acetone evaporates. You are just going to have to try it and see really. As far as the rubber and plastic wheels go they will be fine but most of the time the chrome finish will just flake away.

The rubber smell does not permiate anything, it actually goes quickly. All stoves have a overhead fan and it takes care of it. I've ben baking tires for years and the wife just found out recently because she caught me redhanded. She had no problem because it never left behind a smell or mess. Only thing to clean up is a piece of tinfoil from the cookie sheet.
