14 cells on a 10xl with a 9920 esc. If you running about a 150 mm tall tire about a 18 or 20 should work out fine.
That is mod1 with 51 tooth spur.

Peace!

I'm running prolines rims and tires, not sure of the size, they are almoset the same if not the same size a the stock tires. I found the mod1's harden steel. I ran 72/11 with my hv though. 51/?? i guess would be the question with the tires i have...plus, i think my truck is a little on the heavy side...should i be concerned with heat?

It's the pitch of the gears that 1/8 nitros use which is stronger than the stock 32 pitch on the e-maxx,the strobe slipper fits a 51T mod1 spur gear, you'd need mod1 5mm bore pinions with it.

OK. Now after having 3 pages on a thread. I think I'm set. I have:

Robinson Racing Slipper & Strobe Set up
9920/10XL
MIP center
Dynamite cvd's
dynamite aluminum rear bulks
Integy front a-arms
Proline tires and rims
IB3800 7 cells
Mod'd stock chasis
Mod1 16/51T (plastic, not sure if it will hold up, we'll see)

So, i should be set to go until i smash it to pieces since most everything is stock!

ok, the slipper DOES come with pads, not the stock slipper plates though, youll need those but you should have then from the original slipper. as for gears, well 14/51 is WAY to low. more like 20/51. thats what i run, i think a 18 will be slightly better though. i would get a 18 and 20.

Yeah! The slipper comes with the pads. You order a spur gear to fit the strobe. Need the stock plates like squee mentioned to. I also agree with the gearing. 18 or 20 51

Ok guys! Glad to hear it comes with pads. I still have the stock plates so that's awsome. I got a 16 because I wasn't sure about the steel gear going with the nylon 51T and i think it was out of stock though too, will it still work?
