What motor can replace feigao 540c 7xl ? - 10.06.2006, 05:15 AM

I was thinking of buying the 7xl, but then I canīt use all the 1/8 pinion gears that I have. Is there any motor that can replace the 7xl with a 1/8 shaft ??

Or comes close to ??

Regards

You would be far better off simply purchasing some 5mm shaft pinions - a 7XL with a 1/8" shaft will probably end up snapping it, espically if you plan to use it in a fairly heavy car.

I just can´t find 5 mm bore pinion anywhere. They are out of stock at RC-Monster for E-maxx (unless the mod1 5 mm can be used)

Mod-1 pinions are better than 32 pitch, however you would need a "strobe" slipper to use mod-1 spurs (1/8 buggy spurs).

I'm not sure where else you will find 32 pitch 5mm pinions, the ones I have were purchased from RC-Monster I'm fairly sure.

You'll need a Quark 125b. You may also have to add a heatsink to it to keep it cool as well.

Most likely you won't be able to find a motor that can push out more power than a 7XL without paying a lot more. But keep in mind that the batteries supply the power, so better batteries will allow the motor to be more powerful than cheaper batteries. Also, if you use more cells, then you will get an increase in power.

I was just about to put one of my Quark 125's on ebay it was all setup (5mm plugs, deans plug heat sink and a bec) All you would have to do is plug it in and strap it down. If your interested send me an email. You would probably be better off with an 8xl if your going to use lipo or good nihm's. It will still have plenty of power run cooler and give you longer run times. I also have a few 5mm 32 pitch gears if Mike cant hook you up with one.
