I have heard them tell members in other posts it is ok to cut the connectors off and solder the wires directly so different plugs should not be an issue.

While you're at it, shorten the wires if possible. They are kinda long considering they are only 14GA.
Actually, I think I remember reading in the manual that it was perfectly acceptable to do so...

Brian i already planed on cutting them as short as possible. The wires on mine are 13g not 14g. I also plan on using deans plugs on the batterys. If i decide to run 14 cells instead of LIPO's, i assume i can make a jumper of the speedo so i can use two packs , like you would do on a BK warrior ?.

Hope you like it as much as i do. I run a 9XL on my Mamba with a G2R and 12 cells
Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

Isn't that a bit slow? Not criticising you or anything, just with a 7XL on 12 cells it was only a bit quicker than stock.

The 9xl has a kv around 1650. The titans are about 1200 kv.
I think he is running almost stock gearing. But then again he is a racer and to
much speed is bad as well as good.

Yeah, I'm currently running 17/66 gearing 32pitch. Its slow on flatland, maybe faster than stock, about 30 tops. Like coolhand said, I'm a racer and do most of my running on the track, the power and acceleration are a little better than a nitro but not uncontrolable and its a little slower top-out wise, but if setup right you're not going to top-out except on the straight

Well, it would be the smartest to solder onto the plug..
when you solder on the board directly, you need to heat it entirely, otherwise you'll get a cold connection..

Okay rene, i was just trying to keep the wire as short as possible. What if i solder it to the WIRE just before the board but not the acctual board ?.

Yeah, i understand what you mean..
If you just make it hot enough, it would be a good connection, but you need to pay close attention on the other side of the circuitboard, to see if the tin is melting on that side too..
While you are at it, you might as well put the output of the UBEC directly on escs receiver wire I was planning on doing that with my mamba-maxx. What bec did you get? i got one with a very small footprint, which would blend right in..

Rene i got the one mike sells, the UBEC. What is the benifit of putting the ubec output wires directly to th ESC reciver wire versus plugging it into the reciver ?.
