Installing gold plugs on motor wires??

Hey fellas,

Im in the proccess of installing the 6.5mm CC plugs on my Neu motor. But the wires seem to be too big to fit in the plugs. Has anyone come across this before? Should i drill out the plug, or trim the circumference of the wire down a little bit? Its only to big by about 1-1.5mm. I probably should have asked this a bit earlier, ive already wrecked one plug trying to drill it out
