Glad to see i'm not the only one driving a brushless truck/truggy during winter season. If you don't mind this is how i protected my electric components. I even made some basic video clips on snow and ice: clip1, clip2, clip3. And here is an eagletree graph of one of my runs on snow.

Are those 18650 cells? If so, I've tried that setup before. For low amperage use, where cell arrangement can afford 5 amps or less per cell, it seemed to work pretty good. I didn't get much cycle life out of them though.
