L size without overheating - 02.02.2008, 03:14 PM

What would be the ideal motor (9l or 10L) choice in the feigao L size for a light E-maxx (under 8lbs with batts) I know evorybody's running 8xl but I prefer to stay with an L cause I like the higher revs and it works better with my set-up. I currently run an 8L and it's ok for about 15 minutes but gets to hot in the 30minutes mains at the track (180 degrees after about 15 minutes)
would I be able to run an L size and keep it in the 160 range! Esc is a bk9918 and is fine! Right know i'm thinking of 10l as I can just gear it higher than my 8l and still reach 35mph for the track. any suggestions

Working on:
Twin CF GorillaMaxx (8S motors on 2x2slipo)
2WD AL. GorillaMaxx (7lbs with batteries)
